The Michigan Back Pain Collaborative (MIBAC) offers clinician training modules free-of-charge for the trainee. Chiropractors who are BCBSM providers, APPs* including NPs and PAs, and PCPs who are affiliated with a Physician Organization are invited to participate in these online, on-demand modules. Incentives are available for PCPs in a PO and BCBSM-participating Chiropractors. For 2023, new trainees who are eligible can earn $100 for training completion and are also eligible for continuing education credit. (Final approval of incentives is subject to BCBSM provider status at the time of payment).
MIBAC Clinician Training Details:
The MIBAC 2023 Practitioner Training is now available. Please select “Register for Training” if you have not yet registered, or “Log-in to Training” if you are resuming a previous session from 2022. If you are reviewing the training and did not log-in during the 2022 or 2023 calendar year, you will need to make a new account as we are working with a different training platform. It is only for individuals who did not take the training module. The requirement for PCPs and Chiropractors is a 90-minute training module
The training programs from Spine Care Partners have been used in a variety of settings, in several different states (i.e. New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island), and have consistently had high levels of participant satisfaction and strong evidence of success in defined measures of appropriate care patterns (e.g. use of imaging, rate of surgical referrals, etc.). This program has been successfully implemented through Excellus Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Upstate New York).
MIBAC is funded by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). Although they provide funding, the views and opinions of the collaborative do not express the views of BCBSM. We are grateful for their ongoing support.
